Suminder Grewal, an alleged full-patch member of the Hells Angels Hardside chapter shot to death in a Starbucks drive-through.

Surrey RCMP were called to the 3000-block of 152 Street for reports of shots fired on August 2nd at approximately 9:20am.

Police and paramedics arrived at the Southpoint Exchange mall in South Surrey to find 43-year-old Suminder Grewal suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced at the scene.

Immediately after the shooting witnesses reported to police that two people were seen fleeing in a vehicle and later on foot. Police acted quickly and were able to arrest two men in connection with the homicide. These two men have been identified as 20-year-old Calvin Powery-Hooker and 21-year-old Nathan De Jong.

Powery-Hooker and De Jong have each been charged with first-degree murder for the shooting death of 43-year-old Suminder Grewal.

Police said “Grewal was a well-established member of an organized crime group and it is believed that his homicide was targeted.” Anyone with information, who have yet to come forward to police, is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448).

In November of 2018 November, Chad Wilson, another member of the Hells Angels Hardside chapter, was found murdered under the Golden Ears Bridge.
