St Catharines 2026 Homicide Victim List

On Friday, May 15, 2026, at around 4:15 p.m., Niagara Regional Police Service officers were called to a home near Lakeshore Road and Lake Street in St. Catharines after reports that two people inside were not showing signs of life.

When officers arrived, they found an adult woman deceased inside the residence. An adult man was also located and taken to hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The victim has been identified as Vidhi Kalpeshbhai Meghani, a 22-year-old law student.

The Niagara Regional Police Service Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

By May 18, 2026, investigators arrested 40-year-old Joshua St Omer of St. Catharines in connection with the case. He has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse.
