Manitoba 2026 Homicide Victim List
On May 13, 2026, just before midnight, Shamattawa RCMP were called to a report of a serious assault in the community.
When officers arrived, they found a 32-year-old woman unconscious inside a home with critical injuries. She was first taken to the local nursing station and then airlifted to Winnipeg for advanced medical treatment. Despite efforts to save her, she died the following day, on May 14.
Investigators say the woman had left her own home earlier that day and gone to another residence for safety. Police allege that her partner later found her there and carried out a violent attack, which resulted in her death.
A 27-year-old man, Keith Miles, was arrested shortly after the incident. He was initially charged with aggravated assault, but the charge has since been elevated to manslaughter. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
