Human remains were found by Smithers RCMP on September 17. Police have not said where the remains were found, only that they are working on the positive identification of the body.

Even though police have not released the identity of the victim, friends and family of 18-year old Jessica Patrick of Smithers say her remains have been found. Patrick disappeared on Aug. 31 and was reported missing on Sept. 3.
