Winnipeg Police Service responded to the first 100 block of The Promenade, for the report of a suspicious circumstances incident involving an unresponsive female.

On arrival police located a female suffering from life-threatening injuries and provided emergency medical care. The female was transported to the hospital in critical condition where she was pronounced deceased.

The Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation and has identified the victim as  28-year-old Briannah CLOWES of Winnipeg. 

On November 3, police arrested Ryan John KENNEDY, 32, of Winnipeg has been charged with the following:

• Second Degree Murder

He was detained in custody.

Police said KENNEDY and CLOWES were previously known to one another.
