Update: Two youths charged – Regina Homicide 6 – police investigate the death of Charles Russell Thompson

Regina police police received a report of a seriously injured male in the area of 8th Avenue and Retallack Street on December 26th at at approximately 5:50 p.m.

On arrival, officers located the victim lying on the ground with life-threatening injuries. Officers provided first aid until EMS arrived where they continued life-saving measures, however, the victim, 30 year-old Charles Russell Thompson, was determined to be deceased.

This death is being treated as a homicide and the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service is continuing the investigation. 

Update: Regina police announced on December 29th that Two youths had been charged in connection to the homicide.

15 Year-Old Male:

• Second-Degree Murder [CC 235(1)]; and

• Fail to Comply with Release Order [CC 145(5)(a)].

15 Year-Old Male:

• Second-Degree Murder [CC 235(1)];

• Fail to Comply with Release Order [CC 145(5)(a)];

• Fail to Comply with Release Order [CC 145(5)(a)]; and

• Carry Concealed Weapon [CC 90(1)].

The two youths will make their first appearance on these charges in Regina Youth Court December 30, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
