RCMP responded to a firearms complaint at a rural property in Redwater Alberta on May 8th at approximately 9:46pm.

Police located Anna Ermakova, 49 deceased, and a severely injured man who was rushed to hospital where he remains. Police said the injured man, Robertas Kalkius, lived with Ermakova, and they were common-law partners.

On May 13th police charged Robertas Kalkius with first-degree murder. He made his first court appearance virtually from a hospital bed where he remains under police guard.

A gofundme campaign has been created to assist the family with funeral expenses.
