RCMP investigate a suspicious death involving a gun in Calmar Alberta

Leduc RCMP responded to a call for service related to a suspicious death involving a firearm on January 9th at approximately 5:37am.

On arrival police and paramedics arrived and located a deceased male in a residence in the town of Calmar. Information regarding the deceased is not available at this time pending notification of next of kin.

Police arrested one man at the residence but no charges have been laid at this time. RCMP said futher information will be released as it becomes available.

As a result of the investigation, Alberta RCMP have charged a 33-year-old individual with manslaughter and break and enter.

The individual was taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with a next court date set for Sept. 26, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc, Alta.
