Prince Rupert RCMP said a 44-year-old man entered the mall in the 200 block of 3rd Ave West with a firearm on November 21st at approximately 8:30 AM.

The male shot a 52-year-old female and then turned the gun on himself. The female victim was pronounced deceased on scene and the man was rushed to the local hospital where he died of his injuries. RCMP said the victim and the assailant were known to each other, and preliminary findings found that the incident was isolated and there are no outstanding suspects at this time.
