Lake Louise RCMP attended the Chateau Lake Louise to conduct a welfare check on the occupant of one of the rooms on October 22, at approximately 2:41pm.
Police arrived to find Cindy McCormick, a dentist from Saint John, dead in the room. An autopsy as conducted and revealed the death of the woman was a homicide. McCormick had been visiting Lake Louise on a dental conference with her partner, Saint John firefighter Bobby Kaine.
That same day, 52 year old Bobby Kaine, McCormick’s parter, was found dead in a vehicle west of Lake Louise on Emerald Lake Road on the Alberta BC Border. Police said the death of the man was non criminal and no other suspects are being sought by police in relation to these deaths.
Update
RCMP have not released the name of the victim, however Cpl. Curtis Peters said the media reports of the victim’s identity were “not wrong”.
