Calgary Police Investigate Murder-Suicide After Mother and Son Found Dead in Temple

Police are investigating the deaths of two individuals after they were discovered inside a home in Calgary’s Temple neighbourhood on Wednesday afternoon.

According to authorities, officers were called to a residence in northeast Calgary at approximately 2:05 p.m. on June 10, 2026, to conduct a welfare check on a resident.

When officers entered the home, they found a woman in her 40s and a child under the age of 10 deceased.

Investigators say the case remains in its early stages. However, police have indicated that they do not currently believe there is an outstanding suspect connected to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and officers continue to interview witnesses as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Update: Following autopsies conducted on Thursday, June 11, 2026, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the death of the boy, aged seven, has been deemed a homicide. The death of his mother, age 42, was deemed to be suicide. Police believe she is responsible for her son’s death and are not looking for any other suspects.
