Update 4 charged – Police declare the death of Jeremy Starblanket in a Prince Albert house explosion and fire, a homicide

 Prince Albert Fire Department responded to the 500 block of 5th Street East on the report of an explosion and a house fire on March 20th at 1:38pm.

Fire officials said the single-family bungalow was found fully engulfed in flames. Investigations determined that an explosion had blown the building off the foundation and then ignited.  The cause of the explosion is under investigation.

Jeremy Starblanket,29, of Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation was located by fire crews deceased at the scene.  An autopsy was completed and Prince Albert Police Service has deemed this to be a homicide investigation. The cause of death has not been released at this time.

Update July 28th
Prince Albert police have issued a Canada Wide Warrant for the arrest of Loretta Sakebow 33, for second degree murder, in connection with the homicide of 29-year-old, Jeremy Starblanket.

Loretta Sakebow also known as “Lynda” and has ties to Pelican Lake First Nation, Ahtahkakoop First Nation, Witchekan Lake First Nation and Prince Albert. Loretta is described as 5’6’’ tall, 130 lbs and has a tattoo on the right side of her neck.

Update July 29th
 Loretta Sakebow has been arrested by the Prince Albert Police Service and remains in custody.

Update:  On February 23, 2023 Keyano Ahenakew [Information 90480254] was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. On February 22, 2023 Henry Ratt was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. On February 24, 2023, members with the Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested 44-year-old Darren Masuskapoe from Prince Albert.
