New Brunswick 2026 Homicide Victim List
According to the Belle-Baie Police Force, officers responded to a medical emergency at a residence in Petit-Rocher on May 8, 2026, at approximately 3:05 a.m. Upon arrival, police located a 50-year-old man suffering from an abdominal injury. He was transported by ambulance to hospital for medical treatment.
The victim was later identified as Serge Savoie. On May 22, 2026, Savoie died at Chaleur Regional Hospital. Following his death, an autopsy was conducted, and investigators determined that the case should be treated as a homicide.
As the investigation progressed, police arrested a 28-year-old woman on May 30 in connection with the incident.
On June 1, Alicia Lagacé appeared before Bathurst Provincial Court by video conference. She has been charged with manslaughter, aggravated assault, and breach of probation. Lagacé was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on June 8, 2026.
Police say the investigation remains active, and investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding Savoie’s death. Additional details have not yet been released.
