Brampton Ontario 2026 Homicide Victim List
Police in Peel Region responded to reports of gunfire on April 3rd at around 10:20pm in the area of Rutherford Road and Weybridge Trail, just north of Williams Parkway in Brampton.
According to Constable Laurie McCann, a group had gathered at a nearby school when an altercation broke out, during which one or more firearms were discharged. Two individuals were struck by gunfire.
Officers discovered one victim near the basketball courts behind St. Joachim Elementary School on Rutherford Road North, while the second was found in the driveway of a residence on Weybridge Trail.
Both victims a man in his 20s and a teenage youth, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the suspect or suspects had already fled before police arrived. It remains unclear whether they left on foot or used a vehicle, and no description has been released so far.

Following an extensive investigation, five individuals were arrested and charged between May and July.
Those charged are:

- Two counts of First-Degree Murder
- Young Person, 17, of Brampton
- Two counts of First-Degree Murder
- Young Person, 17, of Brampton
- Two counts of First-Degree Murder
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device
- Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Firearm with an Altered Serial Number
- Mcaium Aarons, 25, of Toronto
- Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Breach of Probation Order
- Jayden Christmah, 23, of Orangeville
- Possession of a Firearm for the Purpose of Trafficking
All five individuals were held in custody pending bail hearings before the Ontario Court of Justice.
Under a general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), the names of young persons charged in criminal proceedings cannot be published. As a result, the identities of the two youths charged in this investigation are protected.
As part of the investigation, five firearms were recovered. Three were located at the homicide scene, one was recovered a short distance away, and the fifth was seized during the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Brampton.
