Peel police investigate the fatal shooting of Amanjot Bains in Brampton

Peel police responded to the report of a shooting at a plaza at Dixie Road and Peter Robertson Boulevard in the City of Brampton on October 12th at approximately 12:54am.

Police and paramedics located 36-year-old Amanjot Bains, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Peel police said they are aware that several potential witnesses were in the area at the time of the shooting, but have not yet had the opportunity to speak with investigators.

Anyone with information on this incident, surveillance video or dash cam, are asked to call investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau at 905-453–2121, extension 3205. 

Update on October 20, 2021, investigators charged Zachary O’Gorman, a 22-year-old of Brampton with the alleged offence of First Degree Murder. Police have also charged Gurpreet Singh, a 29-year-old of Brampton, with the alleged offence of Accessory After the Fact to Murder.
