Peace River RCMP charge a man with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Keith Carifelle

Peace Regional RCMP received a report of a male who had arrived at the Emergency Medical Services Station in Cadotte Lake, Alta. suffering from a gunshot wound on September 12th. The victim who has been identified as Keith Carifelle, 34, was then taken hospital in Grande Prairie via STARS where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police said the investigation has determined that the shooting took place at a residence on Cadotte Lake in the Woodland Cree First Nation. On September 14th Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit arrested and charged a 31-year-old male of Cadotte Lake for the first-degree murder. The identity of the accused has not been released. Police said the victim and the accused are known to each other.

As these matters are now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
