Ottawa police announced on October 7th that the Homicide Unit is investigating the homicide of a man who was stabbed in the late morning of September 23rd, 2024, in the area of Ira Morgan Way in the village of Metcalfe.

At approximately 11 a.m., Lusk was leaving his home on Ira Morgan Way in Metcalfe, in his pickup truck. A short distance from his home, he pulled over and interacted with a light grey or silver sedan. During this interaction, the front passenger of the sedan entered Mr. Lusk’s vehicle and attacked him, stabbing him before fleeing the scene in the same sedan.

Police said a neighbour discovered Mr. Lusk in critical condition shortly after the stabbing and called 911. He was rushed to The Ottawa Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries on October 5, 2024. The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit took over the investigation following his death.

Sergeant Chris O’Brien, the lead investigator in the case, announced today that investigators are releasing video footage and still images of the suspect vehicle in hopes of generating leads from the community.

“We are asking the public to closely examine the vehicle captured in the footage,” Sergeant O’Brien stated.  “If you recognize this vehicle or have any information about the individuals involved, please come forward. We believe there were at least two people in the vehicle during the attack – the offender and the driver – and we are confident that others in the community may have information that could assist in bringing justice for Mr. Lusk and his family.”
