OPP investigating the homicide of Blythe Sexsmith

Northumberland OPP detachment responded to a report of a man injured from an alleged assault on May 6th at approximately 7:20pm.

Officers arrived on scene and found evidence of a person who had been seriously injured, however the victim was not at the scene.

Stephen Murray KELLY (age 62) of Selwyn Township, was found injured was arrested and charged with first-degree-murder. Kelly was taken to hospital for his injuries where he dies a short time after.

On Monday May 27, two kayakers found a body near the shoreline of the Trent Severn Waterway near 8th Line East, just north of Campbellford. The body was the victim Blythe Sexsmith.
