OPP Charge 44-Year-Old Man With Second-Degree Murder After Hospital Death in Timiskaming District

Ontario Provincial police say officers were called to a local hospital around 5:45 p.m. on May 22 to assist paramedics from the District of Timiskaming Social Services Administration Board after a person suffered serious injuries.

Despite emergency life-saving measures, the victim later died from those injuries, according to an OPP news release.

Police have not released the victim’s identity at this time.

Investigators have charged a 44-year-old local man with second-degree murder. The accused appeared in court and remains in custody. He is scheduled to return to court on May 29.
