Firefighters were called to the area of 48th Avenue west of 168th Street on the report of a fire in a ditch on May 21st at approximately 4:30am.

According to reports One person was arrested at a residence in the Newton neighbourhood for suspected murder. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in to take over the case.

Surrey RCMP said investigators do not believe it to be a random act or connected to gang activity.
