Nova Scotia 2026 Homicide Victim List
Nova Scotia RCMP Major Crime investigators have laid a first-degree murder charge in connection with the disappearance of Steven Boudreau, 61, who was reported missing from Hopewell on April 19.
Police say early findings in the case pointed to suspicious circumstances, leading the RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit to take over the investigation. As the investigation progressed, officers gathered evidence that eventually helped them locate and recover Boudreau’s remains.
On May 20, RCMP officers, along with the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services, arrested a 29-year-old man at a home on East Torbrook Road in Torbrook without incident.
Cody Reid Palmer, 29, of Torbrook, has been charged with first-degree murder and remains in custody. He is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on June 16.
The investigation remains ongoing with support from RCMP forensic teams, digital forensic specialists, and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office.
Update: On June 22, 36-year-old Travis Shaun Jennings, from Kings County, was safely arrested by the SWN MCU at a residence in East Dalhousie. He is charged with First Degree Murder and had a first court appearance on June 23 at Kentville Provincial Court. Jennings remains in custody.
He is also charged with Kidnapping as part of this investigation. A different victim is associated to this charge.
