New Westminster Police Department responded to report of shots fired in the 600 block of East Columbia Street on April 27th at approximately 7:30pm.

Police arrived to find Robel Kinfe Abera, 20, deceased at the scene with apparent gunshot wounds. Police located the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident. There are no public safety concerns as a result of this incident.
