Montreal homicide 40 – Police investigate a murder-suicide in Pointe-aux-Trembles

Montreal police said a man and woman were found dead on December 27th in Pointe-aux-Trembles apartment.

On arrival police located a man and a woman, both 45 years old, deceased in a fire escape. Their cause of death has not been released but police said the bodies showed signs of violence. Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM said everything indicates that the man took his own life.

Police have not released the relationship between the victim and the deceased, or the victims identity.

According to reports Montreal last saw a homicide count of over 40 in 2007 when the city saw 42 murders.
