Update: Charges Laid – Missing teen girl Roderica Ribbonleg from Little Red River Cree Nation found dead in Fort Vermilion

Fort Vermilion RCMP responded to information of clothing that had been found in a forested area near Jon Dor Prairie, Alberta on the Old Fox Lake road on July 12th.

The investigation lead police to the discovery of 15-year-old Roderica Ribbonleg deceased in a wooded area. Police said the death is suspicious and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes has taken over carriage of this investigation.

Update August 21st
Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit arrested Jason Alec Tallcree, 35, of John D’Or Prairie, AB, in Jon D’Or Prairie on August 19th. Tallcree has been charged with first-degree murder in relation to the homicide of Roderica Ribbonleg and is scheduled to appear in High Level Provincial Court on Aug. 24, 2020.

According to reports Tallcree was known to police and RCMP confirmed he was also arrested in 2014 when the remains of his common-law wife Malena Loonskin were found in the woods near their home.
