Missing Fort St John woman Sarah Foord, found murdered in British Columbia

RCMP said 38-year-old Sarah Foord was reported by a family member as missing to the Fort St John RCMP on July 10th after she had last been in contact with family on Monday, July 6th.

RCMP located human remains in a remote location approximately 75 km north of Fort St John on July 24th. Consultation with the BC Coroner Service and the family of the victim confirmed the deceased to be Sarah Foord, 38.

On July 25th police arrested John Wendell Keyler, 35, and charged him with second-degree murder.

Update January 12th, 2023
According to CBC John Wendell Keyler testified that he was in a substance-induced psychosis and believed he was in danger from “people crawling under the house” when he fatally stabbed Sarah Foord.

He said he was so drunk and high that he did not know what was going on. Keyler had been laid off from his job four months before the murder and was living with Foord in her mobile home.

As a result of the trial Keyler has been found guilty of manslaughter and indignity to human remains.
