Update: Maxime Lenoir fatally shot in Montreal’s Rockland Shopping Centre

Montreal police responded to the report of a shooting in the parking lot of the Rockland Shopping Centre on Aug. 23rd, at approximately 12:45 p.m.

Police and paramedics arrived to find 44-year-old Maxime Lenoir, who had ties to organized crime in Montreal with biker gangs and the Mafia, suffering from gunshot injuries. Lenoir was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Update September 23rd.
Widens Point du Jour Paul, 27, of Montreal, was arrested in Ottawa, and charged with first-degree murder in relation to the killing of Lenoir.

Update October 5th
Samuel Jamahl Chand, 33, of Vancouver, is the second suspect in the case. He was arrested and also charged with first-degree murder. According to reports Chand recently served a sentence for attempted murder in Surrey, BC dating back to 2009. Decisions made by the Parole Board of Canada while Chand was serving that sentence reveal that he had ties to a gang in BC.
