Police and paramedics were called to a stabbing in the 7200 block of Park Street on August 22nd at approximately 3:30pm.

On arrival emergency crews located a man suffering from stabbing injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification, however, Media Officer with IHIT, Sgt. Timothy Pierotti, said the victim had no ties to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.

Update August 24th
The victim has been identified ad 26-year old David Leggat.
