Police and BC Ambulance were called to East Hastings Street near Hawks Avenue on February 6th at around 11:30 pm on report of an injured man in front of the Astoria Hotel.

Emergency crews arrived to find Martin James MacDonald of Coquitlam, unresponsive. MacDonald was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on February 11th.

Initially a 41 year old man was arrested. but has been released pending further investigation by the Vancouver police.
