Police were first called to 267 Gillespie Street around 5:10 a.m on January 26th, to assist a man in critical condition. According to the Sherbrooke Police Service, the victim was allegedly attacked with a knife. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but later died.
Following the incident, officers established a security perimeter around the building where the attack occurred. A few hours later, the investigation was handed over to the SQ.
In a statement, the SQ confirmed that evidence indicates the man was the victim of a homicide.
