Surrey police responded to a report of a hostage situation at a home in the 13300 block of 98A Avenue on March 28th at approximately 9:30pm.

Police said multiple efforts were made throughout the night to obtain entry to into the home to resolve the situation. At approximately 7:30 a.m.police entered the home and a confrontation with the barricaded male ensued. 

Police said the the man was shot and died of his injuries. Police located the female victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries.
