Kelowna, BC 2026 Homicide Victim List

Kelowna RCMP were called to reports of a violent confrontation involving two groups near the intersection of Springfield Road and Benvoulin Road on January 24, 2026, shortly after 8:20 p.m.

Officers found an 18-year-old male with critical injuries. He was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital by BC Emergency Health Services, where he later died as a result of those injuries.

The Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and is working to determine what led up to the fatal incident. Police say the case is still in its early stages and believe the assault was targeted.

“No additional information will be released at this time,” said Corporal Steven Lang, Media Relations Officer with Kelowna RCMP.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the assault and has not yet spoken with police to contact the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit at 250-762-3300.
