Estevan Police Service was dispatched to a medical emergency at apartment A 1206 6 Street Estevan on Nov 1st at approximately 06:38 am.
On arrival, Karie Ann Guillas 46, was located suffering from serious upper body injuries. She was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries.
Officers arrested an adult male at the scene and he was transported to the Estevan Police Station. Police said an altercation took place at the Estevan Police Station between the suspect and an EPS officer resulting in serious injuries to both the officer and the suspect. The officer and the suspect were taken to hospital, where the officer is said to be in stable condition. SIRT has assumed conduct of the investigation.
Police have not updated the public on the suspect’s conditiion, however, a family member told The Canadian Press in an online message that the suspect was the woman’s son and he also died of his injuries.
