Brandon police were called to conduct a well-being check at an apartment in the 200 block of McDiarmid Drive at approximately 10:48 AM on November 3rd. 

Police entered the suite and discovered a deceased 71-year-old woman. Investigators said her death appears to be as a result of trauma caused by an edged weapon. 

During the investigation officers located a 44-year-old male in the suite, he was arrested at the scene and has been charged with murder The victim and the accused are related to each other.
