Montreal 2024 Homicide Victim List

Montreal police and Fire service were called to fire on October 4th at a building in Old Montreal where two victims were located and pulled from the rubble. The building housed a restaurant on the main floor and a hostel upstairs.

The victims are two people from France: Léonor Geraudie, 43, and her daughter, Vérane Reynaud Geraudie, 7.  Police said SPVM confirmed that 25 people were in the building when the fire broke out. 

Justin Fortier-Trahan, 20, and Juventino Hernandez Pelaez, 18, have been charged with have been charged with second-degree murder and arson. The men also face a charge of arson causing bodily harm in connection to another man, and recklessly endangering life by damaging a property by fire or explosion.

According to City News, Montreal police said on October 11th that Fortier-Trahan is suspected of throwing an incendiary device into the building while Hernandez Pelaez is suspected of driving the getaway car.
