Winnipeg police were flagged down and advised that a man had been assaulted in the parking lot of a hotel located in the 100 block of Higgins Avenue on August 6th at approximately 10:55pm.
Police arrived at the Higgins Avenue hotel to find Joshua Robert Jeromiah Hansen, 29, suffering from a stab wound. Hansen was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
No arrests have been made at this time. Hansen is Winnipeg’s 27th homicide victim of 2020.

Update August 19th
Winnipeg police arrested Craig Armand Norman DUCHARME, 34, on August 11th and charged him with:
– Manslaughter
– Aggravated Assault
– Possess Weapon
Further investigations revealed a youth stabbed an adult female just minutes before the unprovoked assault on Joshua Hansen. The 17-year-old male youth was arrested in the area of Sherbrook Street and Cumberland Avenue, on August 16th and charged with:
– Manslaughter
– Aggravated Assault
– PossessWeapon
– Fail to Comply with Sentence x2
– Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x2
