Whitehorse RCMP and emergency medical services responded to a tragic incident at a residence, on January 1, 2025

A 17-year-old male was located with severe injuries and later died from his wounds. Police have not released his identity or cause of death at this time.

Authorities have identified the suspect, 19-year-old Jakhi Samuel Rudyk of Whitehorse, who has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
