Richmond RCMP responded to the 8000-block of Minler Road to reports of a shooting on July 27, 2023 at 5:45 p.m.

First responders located the male victim and attempted life-saving measures, however, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene. The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Ravinder Samra, and believe his death was a “targeted shooting associated to the B.C. gang conflict”.

Police announced that a vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames in the 12000-block of Blundell Road approximately 10 minutes after the shooting. Investigators are working to determine if this vehicle is associated to the shooting.

Police are asking anyone was in the area of the 8000-block of Minler Road or the 12000-block of Blundell Road between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., to contact police at the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
