RCMP NL Major Crime Unit West arrested 33-year-old Johannes Semigak of Hopedale on December 14, 2021.

Police said Semigak has been charged with manslaughter in relation to the death of a 37-year-old man that occurred on November 20, 2020, in Hopedale. The victim was assaulted and then died of his injuries in hospital. The two were known to each other.
