Peel Regional Police responded to an apartment complex near Bovaird Drive and Creditview Road in Brampton for reports of an altercation between two adult males on May 1st.

Investigators said the victim was fatally stabbed, and the suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim’s identity has not been released.

The victim and culprit are known to each other, and this was not a random act. 

On Friday, May 3, 2024, Andrew Galea, a 49-year-old man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
