Edmonton police responded to a trouble unknown call at a residence near 139 Avenue and 35 Street on February 17th at approximately 8:30am.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a 38-year-old man suffering from injuries. He was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police have not released the victim’s identity or cause of death at this time.

Homicide Section has since taken over the investigation, and no further details are available at this time. Anyone with information about the circumstances surrounding this suspicious death is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567

Update
An autopsy was conducted and revealed that Peter Boakye, 38, of Edmonton, died from a sharp force injury with the manner of death being homicide. 34-year-old Aston Gyasi of Edmonton has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
