Edmonton police responded to a report of a stabbing at a home in the southeastern part of the city just before 9 p.m. on May 18th.
According to reports a young girl was found suffering from serious injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police have taken a suspect into custody.

Update May 20th
Edmonton Homicide Detectives have charged a 34-year-old David Moss with second-degree murder in the death of 7-year-old Bella Rose Desrosiers. and autopsy was completed on May 20th and revealed the cause of death to be “Sharp Force Entry”.
It has been reported that Moss had visited the mother of the victim at her home in the area of 43 Street and 25 Avenue in the evening hours of May 18th. Moss then stabbed the child in front of her mother. The mother attempted CPR until paramedics arrived.
