Hamilton police charge Tyler Barberstock with the murder of 33-year-old Tyler Hayden Robitaille.

Hamilton Police responded to reports of a man bleeding and unconscious in the area of MacNab Street near Jackson Street on September 27, 2023, at approximately 3:00 a.m. 

The victim was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as Tyler Hayden Robitaille. Investigators said the victim sustained an injury that was life-threatening, though the cause of death has still not been determined. An autopsy is currently underway.

According to reports, an altercation occurred at a homeless encampment behind city hall that led to the death of the victim. Police said the victim ran from behind city hall and collapsed by the YWCA. Investigators haven’t yet identified possible suspects but said a few people could be involved.

Hamilton Police Homicide Unit has taken carriage of the investigation. Police said the scene continues to be held at this time as it is being processed.

Hamilton Police have arrested, Tyler Barberstock, 35-year-old man of Hamilton for Second Degree Murder charges.
