Hamilton Police and Hamilton Paramedic Service responded to 2130 King St E for an unresponsive male on October 27th.

Police and Paramedics arrived to find 47-year-old Jacob Ardagna in distress, inside an apartment. Paramedics provided life saving measures but were unable to revive him and he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators said Ardagna had several visible injuries to his body and there were signs of a disturbance inside the apartment. As a result of the investigation police have declared the death of Ardagna a homicide and have made arrests.

On Saturday, November 13, 2021, Hamilton Police arrested Ryan Cannon, 27-years-of-age, from Hamilton, and Victoria Rolfe, 25-years-of-age, from Hamilton. Both have been charged with Second Degree Murder.

Update October 16th
According to the Hamilton Spectator. Ardagna had just gotten out of prison and moved into the apartment with his son, and his son’s girlfriend three days before the killing. During the night of the attack, Cannon was high on fentanyl when he beat his father with a stick.

Cannon has pleaded guilty to manslaughter. The charge against Rolfe, who was 25 at the time, is expected to be withdrawn.
