Emergency Services responded to a medical call involving a 26-year-old female in the area of Fairway Road South and Wilson Avenue in Kitchener on August 9th at approximately 4:00pm.

Police said information gathered at the medical call lead them to a wellness check at an apartment building on Cedarwoods Crescent where the found an 8-month-old boy deceased. According to reports the manner of death has been determined to be a homicide. The cause of death has not been released. The 26-year-old woman is the mother of the infant and has been charged with second-degree murder.
