Edmonton police responded to the report of a weapons complaint in the area of 132A Avenue and 66 Street on March 7th at approximately 7:35 p.m.
On arrival police located a 20-year old male and a 21-year-old female in a vehicle suffering from serious injuries. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene. Homicide Section is now leading the investigation and autopsies are scheduled for Thursday, March 9, and Friday, March 10.
Anyone that was driving in the area of 66 Street and 132 Avenue on Tuesday Mar. 7, 2023, between the hours of 7:15 p.m. and 7:50 p.m., to please contact the EPS at 780-423-4567.
Update Edmonton police have identified the victims as Mohamed Lamin Fofanah, 20, and Mya Abialmouna, 21. The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds with the manner of death being homicide.
Update April 11th
Edmonton police believe the murder of Usama Ibrahinadan, is linked to the Mar. 7 murders of Mohamed Fofanah and Mya Abialmouna. Detectives believe Ibrahinadan was mistaken for one of Fofanah’s close associates who lived in the same building as Ibrahinadan.
Investigators are releasing video of the shooter and two other people of interest. The Suspect is seem in a unique black “Hugo” brand sweatsuit and black Yeezy brand shoes discharging a firearm.

Prior to the shooting, the suspect is captured on video with two males, one in a blue “Jeune Studios” brand tracksuit and one in red Adidas track pants and red and white Air Jordan shoes.
