Manslaughter charge laid in the suspicious death of Frederick Appiah Danso in Edmonton

Edmonton Police Homicide Section responded to a suspicious death at a residence in the area of 106 Avenue and 95 Street at approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024. 

On arrival EMS located a deceased male with injuries sustained during an assault. Homicide investigators were called in due to the suspicious circumstances of the death.

Update: The Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Dec. 11, 2024. The cause of death and method of death were inconclusive and are pending further investigation by the medical examiner.

Based on the totality of the circumstances, police charged Abok Madood, 30, with second-degree murder in the death of Frederick Appiah Danso, 44.

“We can confirm that the individuals were known to one another, and this tragic event appears to be a domestic violence incident,” says Staff Sergeant Andrew Larson with EPS Homicide Section. “The accused is in custody, and we have no concerns for public safety at this time.”
