The 2023 Edmonton homicide victim list is available here

Northeast Branch patrol officers responded to the report of an injured male outside of a residence in the area of 84 Street and 179 Avenue, on July 10th at approximately 6:00am.

On arrival police located a 25-year-old male with serious injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.

Homicide Section has since taken over the investigation.

Update The Edmonton Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Thursday, July 13, 2023, and confirmed that the death of Joshua Abdulgany, 25, was a homicide. The cause of death is not being released at this time for investigative reasons.

Detectives are hopeful that dash camera footage from the area may assist with their investigation and are encouraging anyone that was driving in the area of 84 Street and 180 Avenue on Monday July 10, 2023, between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., to please contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
