Sudbury police responded to serious assault near the Cash Money on Elm Street downtown on October 14th ay approximately 1:50pm. It was reported that a man had been stabbed and the suspect fled on foot.
Police and paramedics arrived to find a 25-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died from his injuries later that afternoon.
Investigators determined that the man responsible for the attack is 32 year old Douglas Jeffries. Police received information that Jeffries may have travelled to Toronto to flee police. Sudbury police said Douglas Jeffries was located and arrested for Second Degree Murder in Toronto.
