RCMP said a man with serious injuries was dropped off at the Beaverlodge hospital on May 17th. Police said 48-year-old Derrick Ferguson was pronounced deceased in hospital.

That same morning RCMP were called to a home on Horse Lake First Nation on report of an injured man. Police and paramedics arrived to find Warren Lonnie Laboucan, 28, in serious condition. Despite life saving efforts Laboucan was pronounced at he scene.

Autopsies have been completed and ruled the manner of both deaths to be homicide. RCMP believe these incidents are related.
