Abbotsford Police Department responded to a report of a possible stolen vehicle in the parking lot in the 3200-block of Mount Lehman Road on November6th at approximately 11:30am.

Multiple  911 calls came through leading Police to believe that shots were fired towards the public.

Officers arrived at the scene to shots being fired at them. Constable John Davidson was struck by a bullet and was fatally wounded.

The suspect fled the scene in a stolen vehicle but was later apprehended by police in the intersection of Mount Lehman Road and Fraser Highway.

Oscar Arfmann, 65, of Alberta has been charged with first degree murder in relation to the death of Constable Davidson.
